Yes, Monday June 15th the Governor of Baja California Sur lifted a number of restrictions on Cabo San Lucas opening up shops, restaurants and more. Some bars and nightclubs remain closed, but the town and your Club are ready, and the municipality authorized to reopen the El Medano beach at a 30% capacity. The airlines, transportation companies, car rental agencies and Club Cascadas have implemented a wide variety of new health and safety protocols to protect our staff, Members, and guests. Covid-19 Compensation

For those Members and guests that had to cancel their plans to come to Club Cascadas from mid-March through mid-June (weeks 12-25), the Board of Directors has approved a Covid-19 compensation plan which allows impacted Members to make a new reservation at no cost or to take advantage of a $99 vacation week through Trading Places Management. New Chef

Our beautiful beach front restaurant is pleased to welcome new Chef Santos Sierra. Since re-opening, the reviews we have received about the new Chef from Members and guests have been outstanding. All of your old favorites are on the menu, and a number of fun, new creative dishes have been added. We are sure you’re going to love them!

Annual Meeting and Election of Two Board Members

Club Cascadas held its first ever online Annual Meeting via YouTube streaming last Saturday. We would like to give special thanks to Member and Advisor Kim Walton for putting on the show! Incumbent Marty Russell was re-elected and former sales manager, Ms. Aida Trujillo was elected as a new Member of the Board. Congratulations Marty and Aida! We know the Club is in good hands!

Members get a New Spa

Board President Mark Giddings announced the Board has approved relocating the spa from building 23, its present location by the tennis court, to the left of the restaurant where the sales office has been located. The sales office will move to the Club House Too in the lobby area. Details about the new spa are currently being worked on by management. For many years Members have commented our spa had room for improvement; well…just you wait!

A New Two Bedroom with a Jacuzzi?

When the spa moves out of building 23, there will be an empty space left in the building. The Board has reviewed, in concept, to convert that space into a beautiful ground floor two-bedroom villa with a private Jacuzzi similar to the Escondido J villas across the tennis court. It would be a one of a kind villa that fits the needs of our Members that like a Jacuzzi, but do not want to climb two flights of stairs to a Margarita. A Member Returns to Club Cascadas

“As a follow up to my earlier post, our 10-day vacation to Cabo and Cascadas sadly came to an end. I reluctantly left the resort last Sunday and returned to California. I wanted to update everyone on the remainder of my stay, which included time at Cascadas, a few trips into town for dinner, and then a return flight via Alaska Airlines via the Cabo airport.

We continued to spend a great deal of time at Cascadas, obviously because it is beautiful and relaxing, but also because of the amazing staff. The resort is gorgeous, but the staff is what really makes Cascadas a special place. Where else can you go year after year, and all the staff remembers you. Everyone is truly treated like family from the moment of arrival, until departure, and actually throughout the year. I have attached a few pictures for your perusal.

We ventured into town a few times for dinner, and each meal was amazing. The town of Cabo has been shut down for several months, and restaurants are slowly reopening. We took a cab from outside of Cascadas and then most times took an Uber back to the resort. Cabs are scarce, as there are not that many tourists that have returned to Cabo, yet. Each restaurant was very glad to see us, all employees at the restaurants wore masks and physical distancing was easily taken care of (I prefer not to call it social distancing as that implies not speaking to anyone at all).

When it was time to return home, we arranged a private shuttle and were picked up in front of Cascadas and taken to Terminal 1 at the Los Cabos Airport. There were not too many passengers at the airport. A health form needs to be completed listing the dates you were in Cabo and your contact information. Check-in was a breeze. The health form was looked at by an agent and then simply given back to us, so the reasoning for listing the contact information was unclear to me. There were 8 departing gates in the Terminal we were in, everyone was wearing masks. We boarded the plane and took off for San Diego. Everything was very clean on the plane and went smoothly. California does not require any quarantine upon return from Mexico.

Cabo and Cascadas are special places to me and my family, and I am sure that they are also special to you and your families. If you are considering a return to Cabo and Cascadas, I highly recommend it. The Vitamin D feels great, and the VIP service at Cascadas is priceless. I hope that each of you are able to rebook, and/or book your next trip to Cabo and Cascadas soon.

My only regret is that I had to come home and leave Cascadas. I will be returning in 6 months and am counting the days.”
